KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) has successfully delivered all Loan Scheme Textbooks (BTSP) for the 2025 academic year to schools nationwide by December 12, well ahead of the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) December 31 deadline.
In a statement, DBP said the achievement involved the printing, binding, packaging, and distribution of 10,165,556 textbooks to schools across the country.
DBP also announced the continuation of its annual contributions to various associations, including the National Writers Association of Malaysia (GAPENA), the Malaysian Linguistic Society (PLM), the Malaysian Translators Association (MTA), and the Malaysian Editors Association (PEM).
Contributions will also be extended to the DBP Retirees Association (MEKAR) as a token of appreciation for former staff who continues to support DBP’s mission.
Other associations will also receive contributions, subject to the approval of the DBP Board of Governors or departmental directors for specific projects.
Meanwhile, DBP welcomed the appointment of Ida Hanani Abdul Karim, Parliamentary Law Drafting Officer of the Attorney General’s Chambers, as the Permanent Representative of the Attorney General to the DBP Board of Directors.
Earlier this year, several new members were appointed to the DBP Board of Members, including Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir, Secretary-General of the MoE Datuk Ruji Ubi, and Director-General of MoE Azman Adnan.
Other new appointees include PLM President Prof Dr Nor Hashimah Jalaluddin, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Dr Ramalinggam A. Rajamanickam, Board Member of the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation Dr Muhaimin Sulam, and Associate Professor Dr Goh Sang Seong from the School of Humanities in Universiti Sains Malaysia.
