KUCHING: The Sarawak Scout Council has called for stronger cooperation with the Indonesian Pramuka Scouting Movement, leveraging their shared diaspora and language.

“This kinship should serve as a strong bond, leading to regular exchanges for knowledge and experience sharing,” said Vice President of the Sarawak Scout Council, Jumaat Ibrahim, at a dinner hosted for a Sambas Pramuka delegation recently.

Jumaat said that the visit of 50 Pramuka leaders from Sambas, Indonesia, was a significant step in strengthening this friendship.

The goodwill visit to scouts in Kuching, Miri, and Bandar Seri Begawan aims to foster closer ties and exchange ideas.

“This visit focuses on building stronger relationships with Sarawak and Brunei Scouts while gaining valuable insights from their experiences,” said Dedi S, Secretary of Kwartir Cabang Sambas, an organisational unit that manages the Pramuka Movement.

During the dinner, the Scouts Association of Malaysia Sarawak Branch presented the Sarawak Scouts 111th Year Commemorative Medal to the Kwarcab Secretary and Sambas Pramuka branch leaders.
