SARIBAS: The goal of sustainable development emphasised by the Sarawak Government is to prepare this region to face the development of Revolution 5.0 (Society 5.0).
Chairman of Saribas Muslim Association (PERWARIS), Associate Professor Dr Bolhan Budeng said, Sarawak’s ability in facing Industrial Revolution 4.0 had facilitated the implementation of sustainable development initiatives.
“The goal of sustainable development implemented by the Sarawak Government through planned initiatives, includes all aspects of people’s needs and guarantees lasting well-being.
“It is related to artificial intelligence or AI, which very much meets the demands of the global market apart from making daily life easier and it is certain that Sarawak has good competitiveness both domestically and abroad.
“Thus, the strategic cooperation between Sarawak and developed countries improves and dignifies Sarawak at the international level, especially in the digital economy, renewable energy, and environment sectors,” he told Suara Sarawak.
He explained that the transformation of skilled manpower as well as the availability of infrastructure focused on the advancement of humanity in technology and being environmentally friendly in line with the world market.
He noted that Sarawak, as a prosperous region in Malaysia, has witnessed excellence and prosperity with all development initiatives planned and implemented in an orderly manner under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“This development initiative not only provides the well-being of the people of Sarawak in particular, but also increases the world’s level of confidence in Malaysia in general,” he said.
“Sarawak’s economic growth in 2025 will definitely have a high impact not only for the people of Sarawak but the spillover effect will also preserve the Malaysian economy as a whole,” he stressed.
Bolhan added that infrastructure development projects such as road networks throughout Sarawak that connect towns and villages in the countryside have successfully increased the economic activities of local residents, especially in the agricultural sector.
“This is clearly evident because the economic activities of the rural population are heavily dependent on the agricultural, fishing, plantation and rural tourism sectors.
“The megatrend projects that have been and are being implemented by the Sarawak Government are expected to continue to boost Sarawak’s socioeconomics,” he added.
