TOKYO: The official working visit of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg here entered its second day today (Dec 17) with a series of high-level meetings with prominent industry players.

At 3 pm local time, Abang Johari and his delegation held a meeting with HighChem Co Ltd and Integrated Design & Engineering Holdings Co Ltd (ID&E).

This was followed by meetings with Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui OSK Line.

The meetings, which lasted approximately three hours, discussed bilateral cooperation in hydro-pumped energy storage, the petrochemical industry, hydrogen, bunkering supply, and shipping logistics.

Accompanying him in these meetings were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry, and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, and Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.

Also present were State Attorney General Datuk Seri Saferi Ali, Sarawak Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datuk Seri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain, Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) chairman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, as well as senior Sarawak government officials.

Following the meetings, the Premier is scheduled to attend a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Bintulu Development Authority and Pertama Ferroalloy/Asia Minerals at 7 pm local time.
