SIBU: Rimbunan Hijau Group (RH) is set to organise a blood donation campaign in collaboration with PMG Healthcare at the former’s Menara Rimbunan Hijau, Pusat Suria Permata in Upper Lanang here, in conjunction with its 50th anniversary, on Jan 12, 2025, from 9am to 2pm.
“We warmly welcome everyone to participate in this meaningful event. As a token of appreciation, every blood donor will receive a goodie bag and refreshments.
“Additionally, all donors and members of the public are encouraged to take part in a free healthcare screening,” RH stated in a press release, Tuesday (Dec 17).
The healthcare screening includes eye test; blood glucose test; bone density test; blood pressure test; body fat analysis; and cholesterol test.
Participants completed the healthcare screening will receive a gift bag (limited quantities available; first-come, first-served).
The eligibility criteria for blood donors be aged 18 to 60 and in good health; weigh at least 47kg (for females) or 50 kg (for males); have eaten a light meal before donating blood; have not taken any medication within the past week; have had at least five hours of sleep; be free from illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, migraines, recent surgeries (within the past six months), flu, or colds.
Others are; have not engaged in homosexual or bisexual behaviors, had multiple sexual partners, or used drugs; have not donated blood within the past three months; have not consumed alcoholic beverages in the past 24 hours; have not undergone dental surgery in the past 24 hours; have not received vaccinations in the past three weeks; and have not resided in Europe for more than six months since 1980.
Additional requirements for female blood donors are: must not be pregnant; must not have taken contraceptive pills or hormone therapy; must not be breastfeeding; must have given birth over a year ago; and must not be menstruating.
