KUCHING: The Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift communities and drive tourism growth.
Its Deputy Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan commended the event’s focus on celebrating local culture, talents, and traditions, positioning Sarawak as a hub of creativity and festive cheer.
“This event is also an important platform for local vendors, artisans, and performers,” he said during the opening ceremony of Christmas Dreamville 2.0 at The Hills Shopping Mall on Saturday.
“By showcasing their talents and creations, we are supporting small businesses, nurturing local talents, and empowering our communities. I hope that everyone here will take time to explore the bazaar, support our local vendors, and enjoy the diverse array of products and experiences on offer.”
Meanwhile, co-organiser Megan Yeo said the collaboration and hard work brought the event to life.
“We envisioned Christmas Dreamville 2.0 as a place where dreams come alive and memories are made,” she said.
“Seeing so many happy faces here is the greatest reward. This celebration is for everyone, and we’re thrilled to share this magical journey with you.”
Christmas Dreamville 2.0 runs until Dec 25, featuring live entertainment, a festive bazaar with 45 sales booths providing unique gifts and local crafts, and various food and beverage stalls.
It will also incorporate the Madani Rahmah Sales programme (PJRM), offering affordable shopping options for families in the true spirit of Christmas.
Visitors can enjoy a magical snowfall experience at the event every evening at 8 pm throughout the event.
