KUCHING: Three more suspects were remanded today (Dec 15) in connection with the murder of a man at Jalan Sungai Tapang apartment earlier this month.

Magistrate Ling Hui Chuan issued the remand orders following an application by investigating officer ASP Sylvarius Gopog.

The 48-year-old suspect was remanded for six days until Dec 21, while the 32-year-old and 43-year-old suspects were remanded for seven days until Dec 22, under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The 43-year-old suspect was represented by counsel Roger Chin.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed that the three suspects were arrested on Saturday (Dec 14).

Two were arrested at separate locations, while the third surrendered voluntarily.

The murder, which occurred on Dec 1 around 4.40 am, involved a 22-year-old man found dead in his apartment with slash wounds, allegedly inflicted by a group of men.

The first three suspects, aged 22 to 25, were arrested on Dec 2 and remanded under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

However, they were released on Dec 10 with a bail of RM15,000 each.

Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan approved their release under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code, requiring a local surety.
