KUCHING: The Sarawak Youth Startup Programme 2024 (SY Startup 2024) will return next year after a successful inaugural run that saw over 500 applications.
Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that the overwhelming response exceeded expectations, with only 300 spots available.
“We are encouraged by the strong interest from youths, demonstrating a growing entrepreneurial spirit,” he said during the programme’s closing ceremony at the Sarawak Sports Village today (Dec 14).
276 participants completed the eight-day programme, which featured collaborations with over 40 agencies and organisations, including from West Malaysia, to provide guidance and networking opportunities.
“We will continue to monitor their progress and assist them in realising their entrepreneurial potential,” he added.
Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Dr Ripin Lamat also attended the ceremony.
