SIBU: The presence of the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi has captivated local residents today (Dec 14).
Instead of opting for in-room dining, the esteemed couple chose to experience the local culinary scene, much to the delight of the townsfolk.
This morning, the couple were spotted enjoying breakfast at Nur Islamic Café before attending the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) Convocation Ceremony.
They arrived at 8 am, walking from their hotel and were very warmly greeted by café owner Muhd Rahmat.
Accompanying them were Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman Unit), Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, and his wife, Datin Shanti Achmad; Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee; Temenggong Stanley Geramong; and Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek.
Wan Junaidi and Fauziah engaged in friendly conversation with other customers before departing.
The previous evening, the couple dined at Restoran Cabe Ijo, where a special moment occurred.
Patricia Mowe, the cousin of Wan Junaidi’s late first wife, Datuk Seri Feona Sim, surprised them with a cake to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
