SIBU: The local hospital here has banned any activities involving the burning of items and equipment, including for religious purposes, within its grounds, effective immediately.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page recently, Sibu Hospital announced that this ban has been introduced to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

The hospital said that the area near the medical oxygen supply system is considered a high-risk zone.

“Any open burning activities could trigger hazardous incidents such as fires or explosions.

“The hospital requests the cooperation of all parties to adhere to this ban for the safety and well-being of everyone,” the statement said.

The management also emphasised that this measure aligns with strict safety protocols implemented to ensure the hospital area is free from any risks that could endanger lives.

Visitors to the hospital are advised to understand and respect these regulations to avoid any unwanted incidents.
