KUCHING: Good Design Week (GDW) 2024 is a platform to push creative boundaries, form meaningful partnerships and craft innovative solutions.

Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Deputy Minister Snowdan Lawan said this during the event at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus.

He cited the importance of design in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future, aligning with this year’s theme, “Designing with Tomorrow.”

“We must embrace this opportunity to celebrate the confluence of culture, creativity, and innovation that defines Sarawak.

“Design is an essential driver in preserving our past, enriching our present, and shaping a sustainable, inclusive future.

“Sarawak is not only a land of breathtaking landscapes but also a vibrant canvas of heritage, creativity, and innovation,” he said.

The event, hosted by Swinburne Sarawak, celebrates the transformative power of design through exhibitions and discussions aimed at addressing global challenges.

Highlighting the ministry’s efforts, he unveiled several initiatives designed to bolster Sarawak’s position as a global hub for cultural preservation and artistic excellence.
