KUCHING: Construction of Sarawak’s first Green Building Index (GBI)-certified high-rise condominium, d’Isabelle, began in earnest Tuesday with a Commencement of Works ceremony.
Developed by RJ Group, the ceremony which was held at the construction site on Jalan Dogan marked the beginning of an innovative project set to redefine the future towards sustainable property development.
Its Creative Director Ryonna Chuo described d’Isabelle as a bold new vision for urban living — spacious homes that foster togetherness across multiple generations.
“d’Isabelle is a home built for all ages, combining functionality and comfort to strengthen family connections in today’s fast-changing world.
“Furthermore, we are creating adaptable spaces where families can thrive long-term, proving that raising a family in a high-rise like d’Isabelle can be the ideal. It fulfills a lot of features that individuals and families want in their home,” she said when met by the media here.
According to her, post-pandemic lifestyles have redefined the meaning of home, highlighting the importance of adaptable spaces for living, working, and leisure.
In the aftermath of the pandemic, she pointed out that lifestyles have changed so much that original routines and rhythms have not been spared, and the d’Isabelle lifestyle also highlights the value of family bonding.
“As Sarawak’s first GBI-certified residential high-rise, d’Isabelle integrates energy-efficient designs, eco-friendly materials, and green spaces to promote a healthier lifestyle and environmental sustainability.
“Its facilities include a pool, putting lawn, a herb garden, and family-centric spaces that are accessible via balcony for select residences,” she said.
Moreover, she added, what sets the condominium apart is its unique ‘Detached in the Sky’ concept that introduces privacy and tranquility by offering standalone units within a high-rise setting.
“With 330 thoughtfully designed residences ranging from 800 to 1,600 square feet and layouts that cater to multigenerational needs, d’Isabelle provides an ideal balance between luxury, comfort, and practicality.
“d’Isabelle’s layouts range from 2 Bedroom to 3 Bedroom + 1 Study options and are crafted to adapt to every stage of life.
“With features like separate wet and dry kitchens — an uncommon luxury in high-rise living — and flexible spaces such as a study that can transform into a playroom, studio, or a guest room, these homes are built for evolving lifestyles, ensuring a living experience that grows with residents through life’s many seasons,” she said.
Chuo assured that d’Isabelle integrates sustainability at its core.
From energy-efficient designs to eco-friendly materials, she said that the project reflects RJ Group’s commitment to building for the future.
“With d’Isabelle we are pioneering a new era of green, multi-generational living. It’s a sincere effort to lead the green movement in the development industry and create a future-ready home that puts family, community, and sustainability at its heart.
“More importantly, we are moving towards the right direction that the government has in store for Sarawak,” she said.
The ceremony here was officiated by internationally renowned Feng Shui master, Master Pang, marking a harmonious start to this groundbreaking project.
Also present during the ceremony were the Group’s chief executive officer Datuk Lily Lim; Managing Director James Chuo; and Directors Andrew Yu and Rigan Chuo.
