CAMBODIA: The 20th General Assembly of the Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) served as a platform for fostering unity and strengthening relationships among member countries.

RISEAP Honorary Secretary Datuk Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar asserted that the assembly brings together shared values and unique contributions from participants. 

“I believe this gathering will unite our thoughts, allowing us to share commonalities and the distinct qualities of each member nation.

“Today, our discussions will continue, not only focusing on formal matters but also on integrating ideas, interacting, and building deeper connections among ourselves,” he said during the opening ceremony today (Dec 7).

The event was attended by Premier cum RISEAP President Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Manet.

The assembly welcomed 1,000 participants, including 850 local guests and 150 international delegates from 23 countries across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

These delegates represented nations such as Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Sri Lanka, Maldives, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, New Caledonia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.
