KUCHING: A woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Camar here, yesterday (Dec 5).

The accident involved a Perodua Axia and a Mitsubishi four-wheel drive.

The 36-year-old Axia driver was trapped in her seat, while the Mitsubishi driver escaped with minor injuries.

The Mitsubishi driver was rescued by members of the public and taken to the nearest hospital.

Firefighters from Petra Jaya station were promptly dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5.42 pm.

Upon arrival, they saw the victim pinned to his seat and extricated her using rescue tools.

“The victim sustained open wounds on her face and right leg, as well as fractures to her left leg and left arm,” according to a statement from Bomba.

She was handed over to the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) and transported to the hospital.

The operation ended at 6.43 pm.
