KUCHING: The Kuching Blockchain Technology Association (KBTA) held its pre-launch ceremony, signaling a pivotal step toward establishing a robust blockchain ecosystem here.
The event, hosted at Metadise Sdn Bhd, brought together industry professionals, technology enthusiasts and thought leaders to discuss and envision the transformative potential of blockchain technology.
KBTA president James Gan said association was envisioned as a hub for collaboration and innovation in blockchain technology.
“We are excited to embark on this journey to build a smarter, more connected Kuching and empower our local community with the tools and knowledge to thrive in the Web3 era.
“The primary objective behind forming KBTA is to create a platform that fosters collaboration, education and innovation within the blockchain ecosystem.
“KBTA aspires to position Kuching as a leader in blockchain adoption and development, empowering local businesses and individuals to leverage this technology effectively,” he said.
He stated that KBTA seeks to establish a collaborative platform that brings together blockchain professionals, developers, entrepreneurs and investors to build a thriving ecosystem.
“By connecting these stakeholders, KBTA aims to foster a supportive community for blockchain innovation and growth.
“Education is a key focus of KBTA, with plans to raise awareness and understanding of blockchain technology through workshops, training programmes and accessible resources.
“These initiatives aim to empower individuals and organisations with the knowledge to explore blockchain’s practical applications,” he added.
In addition, he stressed that KBTA is committed to advancing research and development by partnering with academic institutions to drive innovative blockchain solutions.
“The association also organises networking events such as conferences and hackathons to spotlight emerging trends, share ideas and cultivate partnerships within the industry,” he said.
