SIMANGGANG: Khazanah Kasihnya Warisan was crowned as the ‘Raja Pecut’ during the ‘2024 Regatta Benak Festival after winning the 30-paddler race event at Batang Lupar.
With the boat number 53, owned by councillor Ardyman Matan, the team easily defeated 14 other competitors.
The event was witnessed by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during the official opening ceremony of the 21st edition of 2024 Benak Festival which was held at the main stage on the Batang Lupar waterfront.
With a time of 1 minute and 57 seconds, Khazanah Kasihnya Warisan took home cash prizes and two trophies: the ‘Raja Pecut’ Trophy and champion trophy for the 30-paddler race.
Spokespersons for Khazanah Kasihnya Warisan, Nasir Manap and Kadir Manap, stated that this victory served as motivation to claim the title of “King of the River” at the Benak Festival Regatta, which takes place on Sunday.
“God willing, all the main players of Khazanah Kasihnya Warisan will give their best performance on the final day,” he said when met.
Both also expressed pride and joy over their achievement.
Meanwhile, the runner-up for the 30-paddler race was Barracuda Puteri Dayang Esah Tandang Sari from Kampung Kalok, Pusa, with a recorded time of 2.05 seconds.
Team Pak Ajis Simanggang secured third place.
