BINTULU: Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) recently hosted a visit from representatives of PETRONAS to discuss the issue of salt blockage affecting the operations of the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP).
The purpose of the visit was to find solutions to this issue through collaboration with experts at UPMKB.
During the discussion, attended by John Fery Jame, Mohamad Fitri, and Eric Anderias from PETRONAS, the salt blockage issue that has impacted SSGP operations was the main focus.
The meeting aimed to gain expert insights to find effective solutions to improve the efficiency and smooth operation of the SSGP.
In addition to the salt blockage issue, several important proposals were discussed, including educational opportunities, collaboration in community programmes, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that could benefit the local community.
This meeting also served as a step towards strengthening the strategic relationship between UPMKB and PETRONAS while supporting sustainable development goals.
The collaboration is expected to open up opportunities for innovation in problem-solving and enhance CSR efforts in the surrounding area.
