KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s 2019 Budget is a continuation of the federal government’s budget to implement various agenda and development programmes to benefit all levels of society in the state.
Sabah Federal Secretary Nor Azri Zulfakar said the state’s budget, themed “Driving People-centric Growth”, would enable Sabahans to enjoy the economic benefits including infrastructure development and public facilities.
“This will also create job and business opportunities, thus creating a multiplier effect for the state’s economy,” he said when officiating the 2019 Post-National Budget Forum here today.
He said the budget emphasised on financial planning in line with the state government’s aspirations to improve Sabah’s economic performance.
Nor Azri said the 2019 state budget of RM4.16 billion included a RM4.1 million allocation for operating expenditure and development expenditure of RM934.68 million.
“It is clearly seen that the budget is able to balance between development and public welfare across all sectors,” he said. – Bernama
