KUCHING: Datuk Seri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel commended the State Civil Service for its progress in advancing the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) plan.

The Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) stated that, because of PCDS 2030, Sarawak was leading the way in addressing economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.

“PCDS 2030 has already addressed these three critical issues,” he said.

“While other nations are still focused on economic development, their own people are sometimes left behind. Sarawak stands apart, especially in economic prosperity, where everyone is included regardless of background—a feat we can be proud of achieving independently,” he added.

He said this during his speech at the officiation ceremony of the “Mitigating Climate Change for a Green and Clean Sarawak” seminar at Imperial Hotel here on Thursday (Oct 31).

Additionally, despite the success of PCDS 2030 so far, Abdullah urged civil servants to continue working together to realise the goal of making Sarawak a high-income state by 2030.

“We must continue to work as a team, coordinating efforts across all state ministries. There’s no place for ‘my department is better than yours’ or ‘I am more powerful than you.’ We must work together to achieve this plan without neglecting sustainability. This is not just Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s aspiration—it is everyone’s aspiration,” he said.

Abdullah noted that through PCDS 2030, Sarawak can maintain environmental cleanliness while achieving developed state status by 2030.

“Our policy is always centered on sustainability, which is the ultimate goal for the state,” he added.
Also present during the ceremony were Natural Resources and Environmental Board (NREB) Controller Datuk Jack Liam and other distinguished guests.
