Buckland shows great support to e-sports team

KUCHING: The Chef de Mission (CDM) of the Sarawak contingent, Datuk Buckland Bangik, has shown his support for the Sarawak e-sports team in the MLBB category.

The Sarawak e-sports team have already secured a spot in the quarter-finals after triumphing over Penang with a score of 12-4 at the Dewan Taklimat, Ar-Riyadah Residence, on Thursday. They are set to face Perak in a crucial match to qualify for the semi-finals spot of the Sukan Se-Malaysia (SUKSEM) IX 2024.

Following this victory, Buckland, who is also the Deputy State Secretary of Sarawak (Administration), took the time to encourage the Sarawak team.

Buckland engaged with the players and coaches, offering words of encouragement while also observing the matches.  He was accompanied by the Deputy CDM of SUKSEM Sarawak and Director of the Administration Unit, Datuk Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin.

In addition to supporting the MLBB team, Buckland visited the venues for the carom and e-sports FC24 competitions.

This further demonstrated Buckland’s commitment to promoting sports development and encouraging local athletes across various disciplines.
