KUANTAN: The management of Alhijrah television station will conduct an internal inquiry to determine whether an element of sabotage is involved over the breach of ethics and policy by the station, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Fuziah Salleh.

She said a report on the internal probe would be submitted on Monday.

“We want to know who have access to the system, including the website, etc, because of fear there is sabotage as it is not normal.

“Alhijrah has always been very clean and professional in their contents,” he told reporters after opening the Sendok Group 4S Service Centre at Jalan Gambang here.

TV Alhijrah is a state-owned free-to-air television network which is owned and operated by Al Hijrah Media Corporation, a government owned company.

The station, as reported by the media yesterday, issued a statement that disciplinary action will be taken against any of its personnel found to have breached the company’s ethics and policy as an Islamic television channel.

It was a brief statement without referring to any particular content, but it is believed over an article on former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak which was posted on the social media and its website, which had since been deleted.

In another development, Fuziah, who is Pahang PKR Leadership Council chairman, said she had sent a notice of claim to a blogger, Yusman Zahari Zakaria , over an article, which she claimed was defamatory for alleging that she used government-owned vehicles to campaign in the Cameron Highlands by-election.

On the opening of the 4S Service Centre, she said it created employment opportunities for local residents.

“We are also infrastructure facilities, including at the Malaysia-China  Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP), particularly in the issue of water supply, because with good facilities, it will raise the confidence of investors to come here,” she added. – Bernama
