MIRI: Several main roads in Miri City will be closed, and temporary diversions will be implemented to ensure the smooth running of the 2024 Madani Rakyat Sarawakku Sayang programme.
The event, scheduled to take place from Sept 27 to 29 at the Boulevard Mall compound, will see road closures and diversions enforced from Friday to Sunday.
According to Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, police will be managing the closures and diversions along several key roads.
The affected roads are Jalan Boulevard Utama, Vinca Street and Road Exit Voulevard 2D.
For those attending the programme, parking is available at the Miri Stadium parking and public parking area near Boulevard Mall.
A shuttle bus service will be provided for attendees who park at Miri Stadium to transport them to the program site.
The public is reminded not to park vehicles on the road shoulders to avoid disrupting traffic flow and to always adhere to instructions given by on-duty police officers.
In addition to the traffic arrangements, the police are offering a 50 per cent reduction in the compound or summons rate during the event.
A total of 14 check and payment counters will be open at the programme site for public convenience.
