KUCHING: More than 900 graduates will receive their scrolls in the upcoming Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) 26th Convocation ceremony.
Sarawak Skills executive director Hallman Sabri said the event will be held on Sept 25 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
“In total, about 982 graduates will receive their scrolls. The graduates, from various academic and skills programmes, have completed their studies at the certificate, diploma and bachelor’s degree levels.
“The ceremony will be held in two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon,” he said in a press statement today.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg cum Chancellor of i-CATS University College will officiate at the convocation which will include the presentation industry awards and various achievement awards to selected graduates.
“These awards are sponsored by Sarawak Skills 22 industry members and strategic partners.
“This year marks an eventful year as two of our best students from Automotive and Engineering would undergo one month of industry training at Foshan Feichi Motor Technology Company Limited, exposing the students to the hydrogen technology vehicle. The industry training is fully sponsored by Foshan Feichi Motor Technology Company Limited,” Hallman added.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the convocation, a ‘Pesta Konvo 2024’ will be held on Sept 21 and 23 at the i-CATS University College Campus, Jalan Stampin Timur, here.
Activities include food stalls selling varieties of culinary delights, exhibition(s) by the various faculties, including a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) showcase, and campus tours.
Members of the public are invited to visit the campus between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.
