KANOWIT: The Kanowit District Police Headquarters is set to host a mini health carnival in conjunction with the 217th Police Day celebration.

The event will take place at the Kanowit Foochow Association Hall on June 15, from 8am to 4pm.

According to a statement by the police today (June 8), the programme will be held in collaboration with the Kanowit Foochow Association and Kanowit Hospital.

Activities will include a blood donation campaign, free health screenings and dental checks.

“Our highlight is the blood donation campaign, which aims to address the blood supply shortage at the Kanowit Hospital Blood Bank,” the statement said.

Eligible donors must be at least 18 years old and weigh at least 45 kg. Seventeen-year-olds can donate with parental or guardian accompaniment.

Donors should ensure they have had at least five hours of sleep and have eaten breakfast.

“The public is welcome to participate in the blood donation,” said the statement.
