BINTULU: The body of an unidentified man was found floating in the water at Tanjung Batu beach this morning (May 25).

The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre said the Bintulu fire station received a call at 7.28am, requesting assistance in retrieving the body.

Firefighters promptly arrived at the scene to collaborate with the police in the recovery operation.

Upon arrival, they found the body of a man, estimated to be in his 30s, fully clothed and floating near the shore.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

Following a successful recovery operation, the body was transferred to the custody of the police for further investigation and formal identification.

The operation concluded at 7.42 am.
