Kota Sentosa unveils new mini basketball stadium

KUCHING: A final inspection on the completed Kota Sentosa Seven Mile Basketball mini stadium was carried out recently to ensure all facilities of the stadium is fully functional.

The project which cost RM200,000 include new toilets, repainting works, general repairs and other upgrading works covering the purchase and installation of international standard basketball hoop stand system and electronic scoreboard.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap said that the works was carried out via gotong-royong cooperation.

Yap (first right) being briefed by MPP officials regarding the completed project.

The newly refurbished project was a special request made by the Seven Mile Basketball Club due to the mini stadium’s repair was long overdue as there had been no upgrading works been carried out for the last 15 years.

“I thanked the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) officials for supervising and monitoring the repair and upgrading works closely,” he said in his statement.

He added that he continues to receive numerous requests for assistance on unsatisfactory facilities and infrastructure in Kota Sentosa.

“I appeal to the public for their patience and understanding to resolve all the unsatisfactory facilities and infrastructure problems, some of which have not been resolved for 15 years,” he added.

He asserted that he would apply for more government funding to address the complaints in his constituency.
