KUCHING: An accident involving two lorries at Mile 7, Jalan Kuching-Bau yesterday (May 23) resulted in three men sustained minor injuries.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firemen from Batu Lintang station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 1.39 pm.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the accident happened when two lorries collided head-on.
Two of the victims had been rescued from the lorries by members of the public before Bomba arrived. Meanwhile, the third victim, a passenger, was assisted out of the lorry by firefighters.
All three injured victims were administered treatment on-site before they were taken to hospital for further medical attention. The extent of their injuries was not known.
Before ending the operation at 2.44 pm, Bomba team carried out flushing works to clear the accident debris on the road.
