KUCHING: Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) celebrated International Nurses Day, honouring the critical role that nurses play as the backbone of the healthcare system.
The celebration, attended by 300 nurses, was held at the Clinical Research Centre (CRC) SGH, here.

Additionally, Dr Ngian said that by utilising their skills and expertise, nurses can optimise patient treatment costs and contribute to policy settings and hospital management.
She further noted that nurses play an essential role in driving economic growth as investment in healthcare leads to increased productivity, reduced healthcare costs and improved social welfare.
“This year’s theme, ‘Our Nurses, Our Future, The Economic Power of Care’, aims to reshape perceptions, showing how strategic investment in nursing can bring significant economic and societal benefits.
“Face-to-face communication is also important in a patient’s recovery journey as it creates lasting and positive memories for the patients.”
