LAWAS: A total of 1,133 individuals, consisting of orphans, persons with disabilities (OKU), single mothers and elderly women, received aid from PERKIM Lawas under the Aidilfitri Donation programme recently.
PERKIM Lawas chairperson Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud said the programme is an annual initiative by PERKIM to assist the less fortunate who will be celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“PERKIM Lawas is committed to maintaining this tradition as Aidilfitri approaches, and this initiative is to share joy and gratitude for the blessings we have received.
“We extend our utmost appreciation to all companies and individuals who supported our programme, and I urge more to come forward to help those in need.”
Also present at the event were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and Awangku Jinal Pengiran Abedin, a political secretary to the Sarawak Premier.
