KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng has acted on public complaints to resolve the water shortage during the Qingming Festival at the 8th Mile Hokkien cemetery.

The mayor said following a discussion with Kuching Water Board (KWB), water tanks were provided for the event.

“This initiative, part of KWBs corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme underscores their commitment to supporting the community during important cultural events,” he said today.

Wee expressed his gratitude to the water service provider for their support and contribution to the Chinese community during this significant festival.

“The Qingming Festival holds immense cultural significance in Sarawak, showcasing the deep respect and harmony among diverse religions and traditions,” he said.
