IF you are looking forward to owning the new Samsung Galaxy Watch, this might interest you. Samsung has recently announced that its “Sleep Apnea Detection” feature is now authorised by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

For your information, Samsung has now become the first company to receive approval from the FDA to detect sleep apnea through its watches and smartphones. Sleep apnea is a condition where breathing can temporarily stop during sleep. This can cause serious health problems such as high blood pressure, heart failure and stroke.

Moreover, this feature requires your sleep time to be tracked for four hours a day for two days. When detecting symptoms of sleep apnea, you will be given a notification on the watch as well as the Samsung Health application. Thanks to this feature, you can seek early medical treatment to reduce the possibility of health complications occurring before it is too late.

With approval by the FDA this week and the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in October last year, Samsung will offer a sleep apnea detection feature on Galaxy Watch devices in Q3 2024, starting in the United States.

However, it can only be activated if you are 22 and older.

However, it has yet to be confirmed when this variant will arrive in Malaysia. As of now, users will have to wait for further confirmation from Samsung.
