Zahid Hamidi flies in for two-day official visit

KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Base here yesterday for a two-day working visit. 

He was welcomed by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas upon arrival on a special aircraft at 7:40 pm.

Zahid’s agenda in Sarawak includes officiating at the Mini Rural Entrepreneurs Carnival (KUD) in Kota Samarahan today.

He will be joined by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang.

During the event, Zahid is set to distribute aid, including assistance from MARA through the Express Contract Financing Scheme (SPiKE) 2024, totaling RM6,536,000 to 39 recipients. 

Aid from the Rubber Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) through the Sarawak Entrepreneurship Programme 2024, amounting to RM3,832,500 to 537 recipients, and aid from the Rural Entrepreneur Development Division (UD) KKDW through the Rural Economic Financing Scheme (SPED), totalling RM889,000 to six recipients, will also be presented.

Zahid is scheduled to depart for Kuala Lumpur at 5.30 pm today.
