More time to enter Shall Wee Dance Challenge

KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng has extended the competition deadline for school students to take part in the ‘Shall Wee Dance Challenge 2024.’

He said the competition is an indirect initiative of creating a child friendly city and encouraged students to actively participate in the dance competition to showcase their creativity and promote child engagement.

“I would like to encourage all students to take this opportunity as a platform to express their unique perspective and innovative dance style even when they are required to follow the dance tutorial uploaded on our Facebook page.

“In light of the enthusiastic response received, I am pleased to announce that the deadline for the competition has been extended to Feb 29, providing contestants additional time to prepare and submit their entries,” Wee said in a press conference on Monday (Jan 29).

The ‘Shall Wee Dance Challenge 2024’ is open to all Sarawakians and participants can contest either as individuals or groups.

Participants must ensure their social media account is a ‘public’ account and tmust include their full name, identification card number, handphone number and the video entries must be uploaded on their Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok account.

Participants will be judged during two sessions, on March 1 at 11am where the top 20 videos will proceed to the next round and then the final judging session on March 8, at 11am.

Among those present at the press conference were deputy mayor Datuk Zaiedi Suhaili and Association of the Boards of Management of Aided Chinese Primary School of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division Datuk Jonathan Chai.
