Sometimes there comes a longing
Well, at times, it’s just a remembering
Of a jungle boy’s walk in the deep snow
In early the year of 2017, in mid-winter
A walk to downtown of Portland, in Oregon
It’s not the first deep snow experience
For years before, the jungle boy recalls
The experience of the severe cold
Of Russia’s notorious winter’s hold
In both Moscow, and the city of Suzdal
And there was that unforgettable time
On a fishing trip to Lafoten, in Norway
Not exactly in the middle of winter
Well, above the Artic Circle, it was cold
But cod fish were aplenty, in the fjords
Yes, sometimes there comes a longing
But often times, it’s just a remembering
Of a trip some place, that’s unforgettable
It can be in winter, or any other season
It will stay with us, all the scenes we saw
