KUCHING: New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak chief executive officer (CEO), Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir paid a courtesy call on Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Khirudin Drahman on Monday (Jan 21).
During the visit, Jeniri was brought to Khirudin’s office, which he described a gallery. It depicted Khirudin’s collections and mementos from the various places visited and worked in, signifying his wealth of experience and expertise.
Jeniri described Khirudin as a man who is ‘meticulous’ and ‘systematic’ due to his ability to arrange items and use the space provided to its fullest capacity.
Khirudin’s creativity was also seen in his ability to compile past achievement certificates and photos, framing them from colours to convenience.
“This is for the next generation of fire fighters; these pictures are my collection of over 30 years in service. I arrange them nicely.
“I want to inspire them and tell them that they can achieve whatever they want to, and surpass any hurdle however seemingly impossible,” he shared.
Jeniri was given a tour of the state Bomba headquarters by Khirudin, during which he shared the department’s history, its operations as well as safety procedures.
