KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Bank Bhd and its subsidiary CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd are working with 12 partners to offer a full suite of solutions for sole proprietors and partnerships so they can start and run a small business smoothly.
In a statement yesterday, CIMB Bank said they worked with the partners under the CIMB Sole Proprietor and Partnership proposition to provide exclusive offers and special rates for various business solutions.
These solutions are anchored on five pillars: banking operation account; payment, collection and courier services; funding and support; work space and connectivity; and digital solutions.
The 12 partners are Digi, Exabytes, ARMS, Billplz, NEXT Academy, Dojo, Genius POS, EasyParcel, EasyStore, Exabytes Digital, Nomad and Sandbox.
“CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic’s customers will have exclusive access to specially priced or packaged solutions ranging from electronic payments, point-of-sale software and services, logistics and co-working space, to marketing and branding, web connectivity and e-commerce.
“In short, all the conveniences required to speedily set up and run a small business,” the bank said.
CIMB Group chief executive officer (group consumer banking) Samir Gupta said a total of 97.7 per cent of Malaysia’s small and medium enterprise (SME) businesses were in the small and micro enterprise category and every year, 260,000 new start-ups were registered.
“Starting a business is exciting but operationalising it can be overwhelming. This is where the proposition helps our customers on kick-starting and running their enterprises, so that they can really focus on producing and marketing their great products and services.
“The proposition is also in support of the government’s call for the private sector to help grow Malaysian SMEs, as announced in the 2019 Budget,” he said.
Samir said CIMB hoped to achieve this with its partners, which were well-known names in their respective fields and had been carefully chosen to complement the banking group’s offerings.
“This is another great milestone in CIMB’s journey to continuously enhance and add real value to our customers’ experience,” he added.
