KUCHING: Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has launched its first 4S service centre in East Malaysia to provide a wider range of services, products and reach out to more customers here.
In collaboration with dealer partner Yu Lee Hong (YLH) Autoworld Sdn Bhd, the advanced facility represents a significant expansion of GWM’s dealer network to cater to all its customers.
Located at YLH’s premises at Jalan Mendu, the service centre which offers sales, service, maintenance, and spare parts was officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian here on Sunday (Dec 10) evening.
Covering an expansive 1,700 square metre, the facility includes a spacious 550 square metre showroom tailored to accommodate a diverse range of GWM models, while the workshop, spanning 492 square metres, features 10 working bays and two washing bays, ensuring efficient maintenance and timely services for customers.
GWM Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Cui AnQi in his speech said East Malaysia has unique charm in various aspects such as economy, culture, and tourism, and after understanding the consumption demands and user preferences, they decided to bring more locally-friendly products and service experiences to this region.
“We sincerely thank YLH for their long standing trust in GWM and providing us with such an excellent platform.
“The Kuching showroom not only marks GWM first 4S comprehensive service centre in East Malaysia but also acts as a bridge connecting GWM with consumers in East Malaysia,” he said.
He added that as a leading manufacturer with 33 years of experience in the automotive industry, GWM has been committed to providing high-quality, reliable products to global users.
“Presently, our sales network covers over 170 countries and regions worldwide. Southeast Asia, especially Thailand and Malaysia, holds significant importance as strategic markets for us.

Meanwhile, YLH Autoworld Sdn Bhd director Hong Boon Pau said that the company became the sole distributor of GWM in Sarawak through local agents in West Malaysia as early as 2011.
“Today, 12 years later, GWM China headquarters has personally entered Malaysia’s automotive industry, granting us absolute autonomy in sales, spare parts, after-sales service, marketing, and more,” he said.
He added the company has invested significantly to create the first 4S comprehensive service experience centre in East Malaysia, ensuring that the people of Sarawak can enjoy comprehensive, efficient, and attentive services after purchasing a car.
“With the global energy shortage, climate change, increasing environmental awareness among people, and support from national policies, the development of new energy vehicles (NEV) is an inevitable trend in the future.
“GWM, as a seasoned Chinese automobile manufacturer, has invested substantial funds and resources in developing NEV and among them is their brand-new pure EV, the Ora Good Cat,” he said.
Meanwhile, also at the launch were also the GWM’s HAVAL H6 and Ora Good Cat.
