SIBU: Sarawak Digital Media E-platform Association will be organising ‘RoboHeritage: Bridging Art, Culture and Innovation in Sarawak’ programme on Dec 13 at University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

Its president Zoey Ting said the programme is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak through the Facilitation Fund for heritage, arts and culture in collaboration with DJI Dronekaki and UTS.

“Set to run from 9 am to 5 pm, the event promises an enlightening journey, fusing cutting-edge robotics technology with the rich tapestry of Sarawak’s art, culture and heritage.

“Admission is complimentary, ensure your participation by registering promptly,” Ting said in a statement on Monday.

Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative industry and Performing Arts Sarawak Datuk Snowdan Lawan is expected to officiate at the event.

“This initiative celebrates the seamless integration of tradition and innovation, underscoring robotics’ pivotal role in preserving, promoting and rejuvenating cultural heritage.

“RoboHeritage unites diverse audiences and experts, aiming to showcase Sarawak’s cultural legacy while exploring innovative technology integrations,” she said.

The event boasts an engaging line-up of activities designed to captivate and inspire attendees such as smart drone and aerial photos exhibition; robot kinemetics at live performances; roboheritage talks, workshops and demonstrations.

“The event caters to a diverse audience including robotic engineers, students, artists, educators, researchers, and local communities fervent about heritage preservation.

“It’s a unique opportunity for tech enthusiasts to explore the dynamic fusion of robotics and culture.

“RoboHeritage: Bridging Art, Culture, and Innovation in Sarawak pledges to celebrate creativity, foster knowledge exchange and honour cultural diversity while showcasing the limitless possibilities of merging technology with tradition,” she said.
