SIMANGGANG: Twenty-one series of community development programmes were successfully organised around Simanggang in an effort to cultivate environmental cleanliness among the community.

The programmes also served as platforms for government agencies to deliver information about government services and the latest information and policies.

Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis commended the Sri Aman District Council (SADC) for its commitment in organising the programmes.

“Well done to SADC for successfully implementing 21 community development programmes since September 8.

“The purpose is to cultivate a clean environment because a clean environment guarantees health and well-being.

“It is also a platform for government agencies to convey information to the community about the services offered,” he said.

The Simanggang assemblyman said this while officiating at the programme here, yesterday.

The one-dqy programme involved various agencies including the Education Department, Police and the National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA).

In addition, a talk on general assistance and benefits for Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) holders by Tingga Manggat from the Sri Aman Divisional Social Welfare Office and sharing from SADC itself on the prevention of dengue.

At the event, Harden approved an allocation of RM5,000 under the Small Rural Project (SRP) 2024 respectively to the Village Development and Security Committee (VDSC) Malay RPR Phase One, VDSC Malay RPR Phase Two Taman Sentosa Indah, VDSC Kampung Muhibbah East Zone , VDSC Village Muhibbah West Zone, VDSC Village Muhibbah Central Zone, VDSC Village Muhibbah North Zone, VDSC Village Muhibbah South Zone and VDSC Taman Harmoni.
