Adequate supply of subsidised cooking oil

MIRI: The supply of subsidised 1kg cooking oil packets in Miri division is sufficient, says Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohd Sayuthi Bakar.

In stating this during his working visit to one of four repackers for subsidised cooking oil in Senadin here on Saturday, he assured that there are no shortage of subsidised cooking oil packets supply in this division.

He added the federal government via its various initiative programmes ensured these subsidised cooking oil reached its target groups.

“Miri Division has four repackers (for subsidised cooking oil of 1kg packets) and they are able to produce up to 467 metric tonnes per month, which is more than sufficient to cater for Miri population.

“Thus, there are no issues of shortage of subsidised cooking oil for this division,” he told the local media.

Accompanying Mohd Sayuthi during his visit were Sarawak KPDN director Mathew Dominic Barin and Miri KPDN chief Joe Azmi Jamil.
