Wesley Juntan, widely recognised by his brand name Wesley Hilton, has unveiled a remarkable creation, the Francissca Peter customised Barbie doll, paying tribute to the iconic Malaysian singer.
According to Wesley, he feels very honoured to create a doll for Francissca Peter because, to him, she is a living legend in the Malaysian music industry.
“I grew up listening to her music, especially during the Christmas season when she would perform Christmas songs on television.
“She’s one of the most successful non-Malay singers of her time, and, to be honest, I feel represented by her in an industry predominantly conquered by Malays,” he said in a statement.
The Francissca Peter Doll is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, meticulously recreated to resemble her iconic appearance at the first Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) in 1986.
Elaborating, Wesley said that the most challenging aspect of the creation was sourcing a fabric that matched her iconic pastel baju kurung.
The doll is also accompanied by a meticulously crafted AJL trophy, a microphone, and accessories mirroring those she wore that memorable night.
To complete the look, the doll features a classic perm hairstyle and makeup reminiscent of the era.
“It took me about a month to complete the customised Barbie doll for Francissca Peter,” said the 36-year-old when contacted by our reporter.
Wesley’s dedication to preserving and celebrating Malaysian culture through his custom-made dolls has not only captured the hearts of collectors but also served as a means of cultural representation for indigenous communities.

Wesley, an Iban from Sekuau, Sibu said he decided to turn his passion for doll-making into a remarkable venture during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Borneo Dolls, a brainchild of Wesley Hilton, originated during the movement control order, when he decided to explore his fascination with traditional costumes and his love for Barbie dolls.
His custom-made dolls quickly gained popularity on social media, sparking a newfound pride among indigenous tribes in Malaysia for their rich cultural heritage.
