TANJUNG MANIS: A maintenance worker found himself in a risky situation when he was stuck in an elevator for half an hour yesterday (Aug 22).
Fortunately, the 42-year-old did not sustain any injuries in the 4.30 pm incident, which happened in an administrative building that is yet to be occupied.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a team from Tanjung Manis station was promptly despatched to the scene following a distress call.
On arrival, the team had to scale up the stairwell to reach the eighth floor to conduct the rescue work. The firefighters had to use a crowbar to pry apart the elevator doors and bring the worker out.
The operation ended at 4.55 pm.
