PADAWAN: Two teenage girls died at Batu 13, Jalan Kuching-Serian, here yesterday (August 4) after their motorcycle was hit by a car.
Padawan district police chief Superintendent Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said they received a report about the incident at around 9.14pm.
“The accident occurred when both victims, aged 18, were on a motorcycle and attempting to do a pass through the centre road divider to enter the path of an oncoming driver heading from Serian to Kuching.
“The impact of the collision caused the rider to be thrown onto the road divider, while the pillion rider was thrown onto the road,” he said in a statement today, adding the accident resulted in extensive damage to the car and the motorcycle.
Both victims were pronounced dead by the paramedics from the Sarawak General Hospital, he added.
Meanwhile, he said the 24-year-old driver was completely unharmed.
