BINTULU: Foul odour led to the discovery of a decomposed body in the bushes near a waste dump of a plywood factory in Kemena Industrial Estate last Tuesday (July 18).

Bintulu police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit said the police had received a public complaint regarding the gruesome find around 3.10 pm.

Initial investigation showed the body, which had decomposed, belongs to a bald man in his 40s.

“There are no signs of foul play and the man had no identification documents on him.

“The body was taken to Bintulu Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said.

Police classified the case as sudden death.

Batholomew appealed to anyone with a missing family member to promptly file a police report at the nearest police station or contact the investigating officer Sgt Amir Youb Bahari at 013-5653756 or the Bintulu police operations room (086-318304).
