“I am proud of your altruism and selfless act of donating blood … you deserve more appreciation and recognition,” he said at a Blood Donor Recognition Ceremony cum Health Campaign in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day 2023 at a hotel here.

“Blood donation is a small act of kindness that does great and big wonders, you are the unsung heroes of the nation,” he said, adding, “let’s look at blood donation as everyone’s social responsibility and make it a way of life in Sibu.”

He also credited those working behind the scene, like medical personnel and lab technicians from Sibu General Hospital, who work tirelessly to ensure there is safe, adequate and sustainable blood supply in time of need.

Chua also thanked blood donation organisers for helping to recruit more new blood donors, especially the younger generation, and for encouraging them to make this commitment.
