Kylie Jenner has dominated the makeup business, and now it looks as though the entrepreneur could have skincare in her sights.
The reality TV star and founder of the Kylie Cosmetics beauty brand has registered three trademarks for “Kylie Skin” and “Kylie Skin by Kylie Jenner” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as reported by Trademark Ninja.
The trademarks cover products such as skin moisturisers, cleansers, toners, facial scrubs and “skin care preparation products,” as well as serums, masks and body oils. “Retail store services” also form part of the list.
The 21-year-old has yet to confirm whether a skincare venture is actually in the pipeline, but it would be a natural progression for the businesswoman, whose Kylie Cosemtics brand has achieved global success since its launch in 2015 as the purveyor of the label’s signature “Lip Kits.”
The brand has achieved cult status in the space of a few short years, earning Jenner the 27th spot on Forbes’s “America’s Richest Self-Made Women” list, compiled earlier this summer. The list revealed that the star has amassed a US$900 million fortune from her online makeup brand, which now spans products for eyes, lips and face, as well as tools such as makeup brushes.
Jenner would not be the first big star to break into skincare — pop sensation Madonna runs the prestige beauty brand, MDNA Skin, while Paris Hilton unveiled her skincare line, “ProD.N.A.,” earlier this summer. – Relaxnews
