KUCHING: A teenager will spend the next three years at the Henry Gurney School Puncak Borneo reflecting on his action after pleading guilty in the Magistrate’s Court today to stealing a motorcycle belonging to a 59-year-old man.

Magistrate Zaiton Anuar ordered the 15-year-old offender to undergo rehabilitation after hearing a moral report from the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

He committed the offence in front of a building in Jalan Haji Taha, at about 11.30 am, on April 7.

He was charged under Section 379A of the Penal Code which carries a prison sentence of not less than one year and not more than seven years and is liable to be fined.

The court heard that the complainant had parked his motorcycle in the parking lot on the sidewalk of a building but when he returned he found his vehicle missing.

The complainant lodged a police report which led to the arrest of the accused on the same day at about 4.50 pm.
