MIRI: A total of RM3.04 million has been disbursed by the state government over a period of five years since 2019 in support of the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF) programme for constituents in Telang Usan.
Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said in 2021, a total of 16 applicants for the AFF programme in the constituency have benefitted from the initiative, involving RM112,000 worth of equipment assistance given.
“The programme has been established by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to help and empower the people, especially those in the rural areas to improve their socio-economy by providing equipment assistance they need to generate income in various industries such as bakery and small farming activities, to name a few,” he said.
He was speaking at the handing over ceremony of AFF’s equipment assistance which was held at Miri Agriculture Department office today.
“Today (Saturday), three applicants -Yap Siong Kim, Kasip Wan and Angelina Lesty Meli received bakery and cooking equipment assistance worth RM7,000 each,” he said.
Dennis also advised recipients to put the AFF assistance to good use.
Also present was Miri Division Agriculture Department officer Hafriz Razak.
