ENGKILILI assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa has highlighted the paramount importance of education as the key to success for the youth in his constituency.
With an unwavering belief in the potential of education to uplift individuals and communities, he passionately articulated the long-term benefits of investing in the intellectual development of the youth.
He emphasised that a robust education system lays the foundation for a brighter future, equipping young minds with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to excel in various spheres of life.
New Sarawak Tribune: What is your vision for your area?
Johnical: It is my responsibility to overcome challenges faced by my constituents, witnessing development and progress in my constituency, ensuring basic economic and infrastructure facilities reach even the most remote area.
Also, it is a must for me to ensure that the younger generation, especially those in rural areas, has access to basic economic and educational facilities comparable to those available in urban centres.
Has any problems surfaced in your constituency?
The escalating prices of goods and commodities are compounding the challenges faced by fresh graduates in their pursuit of limited job opportunities in Sri Aman. The rising cost of living has created a ripple effect, further straining the job market and making it increasingly difficult for young individuals to secure employment that aligns with their qualifications.
What are the latest achievements in your constituency?
A proactive step has been taken by collaborating with various agencies to implement programmes that cater to the diverse needs of the youth like preparation for examinations and resume-making workshops. By working closely with educational agencies, we can provide guidance and support to students, helping them explore various career paths.
What is your hope for the people in your area?
I urge the parents to prioritise education and actively encourage their children to pursue academic excellence. By actively engaging with their children’s education, supporting their academic pursuits, and fostering a love for learning, parents can play a pivotal role in shaping their children’s educational journey and setting them up for success.
