ACTRESS Bella Astillah is thrilled that her singing career is taking off again, especially after participating in the reality programme “Famili Duo” on TV3 last December.

While many know Bella as the wife of Singaporean artiste Aliff Aziz, only a few are aware that Bella has been a recording artiste since she was a mere 7-year-old.

The 29-year-old explained: “I got the offer to record children’s songs after I represented Sabah in RTM’s reality show Bintang Kecil in 1999, when I was 5.

“I was paired up with my younger sister (singer and actress Didi Astillah) to become the Adik-Adik Mutiara duo. We ended up recording 10 albums, each containing 10 classic children’s songs.

“While I was known as Dayang then, as my real name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, my sister was simply known as Didi,” she said.

Bella, related the stories to reporters during an event to announce the collaboration between record label Universal Music Malaysia and famous local F&B brand Secret Recipe.

Bella, along with other singers from Universal — Yonnyboii, Meer Nash and Athalia — also performed at the event.

“I’m thankful to be a part of this project. I also love the cakes from Secret Recipe, so this collaboration   is like a dream come true!” shared Bella.
